About the
Author...
"When
I started school, I was introduced to the Montessori Method, and
it taught me to see math as fun. And guess what? It is! Math can
be a lot of fun, as long as you take your time. You can even
make a game out of it!
This is what I hope to get across with all the lessons in this
book. Math doesn’t have to be stressful, and it doesn’t have to
be difficult. Hopefully at the end of this book, you will no
longer have to worry about TAKS tests. Instead of being
stressed, I hope that you will be able to look forward to your
next math problem as an opportunity to learn and have fun!"
"I’m 10 years old and wrote this book so you can enjoy math as
much as I do!
Good luck and I hope you had fun reading my book!"

"Sofia is a ray of sunshine at Hope Center
in our Kid’s Play program participating in Theater, dance and
Music. A bright, creative, golden ray of light that swept into
our arts outreach classes three seasons ago. I have had the joy
of watching Sofia come week after week; absorb the information
presented and then, radiated it out with hope and joy. She has
such a strong desire to learn and be the best artist and person
she can be. Sofia's smile is so telling of the sunlight that
resides within her. Generous, joyful, and abounding with the
enjoyment for the arts and her community of fellow students.
What an extraordinary young artist. I am blessed to have her as
part of our center!"

"As Sofia’s math teacher I am thrilled that she decided to share
her love of math with others. Sofia has a wonderful flexibility
when it comes to mathematical thinking, and a natural desire to
share it. This book is a product of that flexibility and desire.
It is with pleasure that I call Sofia my student."

"Sofia demonstrates a rare combination of wisdom and patience in
her interests and her focus. It has been a joy to get to
know her and support her as she has created a guide for kids
studying 4th Grade mathematics. We can’t wait for her next book
since she is so capable."
